United States Medical Licensing Examination Step 1 — foundations for clinical practice. One-day exam: 7 blocks of up to 40 items, 60 minutes each (up to 280 items total). 45 minutes of break time is allotted flexibly across the day — test-takers can split it between blocks however they like.
